About UsAPTI Combat Northampton was founded in 2004 by Master Ian Ferguson VIII Dan former British, European and World Taekwon-Do Champion with 34 years experience. Voted Instructor of the year by two seperate associations (TAGB & BNMAA) and described by 'Taekwon-Do & Korean Martial Arts' magazine as one of the most successful competition fighters ever!Master Ferguson devised a new approach to learning Taekwon-Do that focuses on the combat and self-defence techniques and dispensed with the patterns, history and Korean language, the elements that many people don't have time for. The school is now professionally run by the first ever APTI Combat black belt Nathan Fletcher (I) who has over 6 years Martial Arts experience much of which was one on one training with Master Ferguson himself! We are proudly a member of the Association of Professional Taekwon-Do Instructors |

About Taekwon-DoTaekwon-Do is a Korean martial art which is fast becoming one of the most popular martial arts in the world. It is a scientifically designed system of both physical and mental development and an extremely powerful and effective form of self defence. It is used by many of the world’s armed forces and practised throughout the high schools and colleges in Korea. How We’re DifferentWith most martial arts systems, only about 50% is specific to combat and self-defence. The other 50% is academic study with focus on the ‘Art’; Fundamental movements, patterns, history and philosophy.Although these are interesting and beneficial, some people simply don't have the time for this! Rather than putting 50% of the effort into the Art and 50% effort into the combat procedures, you will put 100% effort into combat, fitness and self-defence. This will make you more efficient at self defence in a shorter period of time. |

Training for Under 12'sClasses at APTI Combat are relaxed, welcoming and structured to allow each student to learn at their own pace in a safe environment. Many martial arts classes line students up in rows to repeat techniques, at APTI Combat young people work in groups of 2 or 3 and every young person is given attention by the instructor. As well as developing leadership skills within each group it makes the learning environment much more relaxed and fun. We actively promote our 5 tenets within our teaching style; Honesty, Integrity, Self-Control, Indomitable-Spirit and Perseverance in a fun way that young people understand and encourage them to adopt these values throughout all aspects of their life. We also help develop respect for others, self-confidence, team work skills, listening skills, leadership skills and discipline. All APTI instructors are HSE First Aid qualified and CRB (police) checked. You are in safe hands! Training is from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesdays |
